competition and emigration to the cities continuously, including it leads to the
problems of alienation from the community, children, and teenagers followed.
From the research of Somjai Sri-La (Journal of Social Mekong 2550)
found that ethnic group named Bru has their own language and identity. But the true
crisis is facing with very high decreased ethnic population because of emigration,
working at other places, marriage with other ethnic groups’ people, disguising
themselvesand language as Bru. As a group of senior Bru said. "Nowadays, Bru’s
language and culture are deteriorated and disappeared eventually, because Bru’s
people are ashamed in beingBru until not speak their language, or show themselves to
others, because they are afraid that otherswill know they areBru.”And there is Bru’s
elderly told that, "his children prohibits him not to say Bru language, because it is
shaming, so parents do not speak Bru anymore”. It leads to be resulted in a true
cultural heritage of the true treasures are lost. Because of changes in society and
globalization, Bru’s people need tomodify their culture to be able to live fully in line

job as farmers and gardeners much, becausemost of the area are the RockyMountain
region. From being expelled from the area, it also leads tomake their living lower. The
fishermen would be less because local people lack the knowledge and advanced
equipment to find fish. The main occupation of villagers is to sustain high Kratib or
rice steamer which generates income for a family was not so much. As a result, the
Bru were rather poor. Quality of life is not as good as it should. Most children
complete primary school education, they need to find work to support families. Some
families can send their children to school from the ability that they have. Education of
the children is free to assume that there is a little knowledge gained through education
in schoolswhich is not sufficient tomake a choice in life for themselves.
