Abstract
The purposes of this researchwere 1) to study the situations of educational management in the
multicultural schools located inKanchanaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 3,
2) to
conduct an experiment of the Multicultural Education model, and 3) to study the possibility of using
themulticutural educationmodel in the schoolswhere the students are diverse in cultures.
The participants in this study were educational executives, educational supervisors, school
directors, teachers, students, and students’parents in the Kanchanaburi Primary Educational Service
Area Office 3 (Saiyok, Thong Pha Phum and Sangkhla Buri). The research instruments were an
indept-interview, group discussions, cultural awareness observation form, multicutural education
literacy inventory, cultural diversity
respect
inventory, multicultural environment recognition
inventory, and cultural pride inventory . The datawere analyzed by using content analysis, percentages,
means, standard deviation, t-test andF-test.
The resultswere as follows:
1. The results from the descriptive analysis showed that most of the educational executives in
Kanchanaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 3,
educational supervisors, school directors,
teachers, and parents agreedwith theMinistry of Education concerning the policy of the opportunity of
equal education for the students who are diverse in ethics and cultures. Most of them reasoned that
according to humanity principle, we have to help others. However, the schools in this district have still
used the educational model and curriculum drawn from theMinistry of Education.Most of the teachers
in these schools believed that it was not necessary that their schools’ existing curriculum had to
integrate the contents of multicultures, diverse ethics, languages, traditions, and ways of life into their
existing curriculum. In addition, the results showed that the extra curriculum activities such as the scout
camp, morality camp, the activities on children’s day and mother’s day, and other school activities
