Effects of Pornography Exposure and Sexual Behavior
among University Students: the Application of Randomized Response
Technique and Guidelines for Resolutions and Preventions from Pornography
Exposure Behavior.
The research supported by Department of Cultural Promotion, Ministry of Cultural:
annual research budget 2011 (August 2011-August 2012).
Abstract
The purposes of this research were 1) to study university student’s behavior
on pornography exposure. 2) to compare university student’s behavior on
pornography exposure among sex, major study, year of study, GPA. and student’s
income per month. 3) to estimate the proportional percentage of sexual behavior
among students by applying Warner’s randomized response technique (RRT). 4) to
compare university students’ sexual behavior among sex, major study, year of study,
GPA. and income per month. 5) to propose preventions and resolutions for
pornography exposure behavior according to the opinions of university administrator,
professor, university student and their parents.
The samples of this research were 600 undergraduate students from both
public and private universities in Bangkok metropolitan area which were selected
from multistage random sampling. The samples were composed of 298 male and
302 female students who were 298 cases of Humanity/Social Science and 302 cases
of Science Study. All 150 students from each year of study were equally used to be
the samples.
For collecting quantitative data, a questionnaire of 18 semi interview YES-NO
questions adapted from Warner’s RRT was used. Apart from the instrument of
solution and prevention of sexual risk behavior, including 27 items of Likert’s five-
level rating scale measuring sexual risk behavior and prevention-resolution of
students’ pornography exposure and were analyzed by using descriptive statistics
and applying Warner’s RRT for proportional estimation of students’ sexual behavior.
Furthermore, independent sample t-test was used to compare mean of sexual risk
behavior and prevention-resolution of pornography exposure between sex andmajor
