MR. NAEWMALEE:
It depends on the amount of information and how deep you arewilling to
research it. You can be really passionate and find out all the history or a faster way would be
to hire a specialist andwork with him or her for the duration of the project.
RESEARCHER: What are some of the unexpected problems you facedwhen doing
Infographic/Motion Graphic project, and how did you solve the problems?
MR. NAEWMALEE:
I was very far along into thework (hand signal diagram for the deaf) and
therewas a breaking period, and so I have some people look at my works and they can’t
understand it. So I have to go back to the beginning. And thesewere not deaf guys, but they
could not understand thework.
RESEARCHER: How do you filter out concept and ideas for each project that you do, such as
choosing between a bar graph over a pictogram in an infographic project.
MR. NAEWMALEE:
It depends on the type of information and the intended audience. For kids,
you can’t have toomuch information on there, and you have to use a lot of pictures to
illustrate your point. There almost has to be like a pre-design testing where you have to test

RESEARCHER: How do you differentiate between a well-designedMotion Graphic and a badly
designedMotion Graphic?
MR. NAEWMALEE:
I look at thework’s ability to communicate itsmessage. I see somany
infographic that is toomuch about the designer and not enough about the information. There
should be a balance. A good infographic should not be too fancy.
RESEARCHER: What steps in the design do you think is themost difficult when designing
Infographic/Motion Graphic?
MR. NAEWMALEE:
Every part of it is difficult. Because there are a lot of thinking that went into
every step. From just choosing a particular color is a lot of work. It also depend on how deep
youwant to go.
RESEARCHER: What advice do you have for students and design professionals who are
interested in designing Infographic/Motion Graphic in the future?
MR. NAEWMALEE:
You have to be confident in the information that you have. And for that to
happen you yourself have to be very interested in the subject and is invested in it. You are
