Abstract
The research, entitled the participation of main four-part leaders in the
administration of supporting local arts and cultures: a case study of “Taree-Ina”, Kayukla sub
district, Waeng district, Narathiwat province, aims to study about the process of participation
of main four-part leaders in the administration of supporting local arts, to investigate about
the history of the local arts and to explore for revival of the local arts. All can be concluded
in accordance with the research’s objectives as follow:
The participation of main four-part leaders in the administration of supporting local
arts is found that the leaders show an interest and whole-heartedly encourage with holding
the view that “community is to be liken to one family”. Particularly, natural leader (village
instructor), youth organization (locality leader), kamnan (local leader) always view when
“Taree-Ina” band performs. However, spiritual leader (Imaam) rarely views the band’s
performance, never have forbidden it and never said if the religion allows to do so.
The history of “Taree-Ina”, in the state of local cultural heritage, can be concluded
as follows: “Taree-Ina” is considered as the only band remaining in Thailand. If there is no
inheritance of it, it finally disappears”. Interestingly, “Taree-Ina” in the past, there were four
people learning about “Taree-Ina”, but up to now there is only one who conveys “Taree-
Ina” that is Jeh (Mayakoh). She narrates that she has stopped performing it for 20 years, but
she decides to perform it again because some people have taken an oath. The things that
“Taree-Ina” does not differ from other shows are the show is started by
WaiKhru
for the
purpose that performers are in the mood of it. In addition, in the past “Taree-Ina” was
performed by men, but later it had been changed into women. Instead, the men transited
to perform “Silat”. During its history, parents never allowed their children to perform,
because it was too dangerous (cause towaist broken). Generally, “Taree-Ina” takes 100 days
to rehearse. The distinctive point of it is wheel posture. For the onewho is able to do so, he
or she can take a coin. The more distinctive point of it is taking a bank note on which there
is a coin at the same time. The history of the word “Taree-Ina” stemmed from a bride who
had to wear “Ina” and sat on the throne while people dancing around called “Taree”,
generally known as “Taree-Ina”.
The continuous revival and preservation of “Taree-Ina” is seen as the main four-part
leaders had better playing a part in supporting participation, as the present-day the
supporting participation is mainly arisen from local leaders, natural leaders and locality
leaders. But, all supporting is in the way of sentimental one, not regarding with finance. In
the preceding time, the band has got financial and other supports from the show of the
youth of teacher of wisdom. Most importantly, everyone agrees that there should be
networking for inheritance and supporting “Taree-Ina” by gathering four youth generations in
order to pass “Taree-Ina” down to upcoming generations.
