Abstract
The research title on The Traditional Identities of Phi Ta Khon, Phi Khon Nam
and Floral Float Local Parade : An Image Creation into Series Performance for
Promoting Tourism in Loei Province aiming to 1) identify the three traditional
identities and 2) to promote learning of these three local traditions for economical
creation designs and 3) to create performances’ costumes by looking into the
meanings of these three traditions. Subjects include local scholars, monk,
sub-district culture representatives, village headmen, community headmen, and
villagers in the communities. The instruments comprise questionnaires, data record
forms, interviews, and an operation of focus groups. Descriptive data is analyzed.
The results revealed that:
Three aspects of the traditional identities are 1) regarding a basis of
villagers’ faith, the traditions themselves are touchable and livable, so they make
them enjoyable 2) regarding a belief through colors, performances are presented
using colorful costumes with diverse series of performances and 3) regarding
a cooperation and unity of villagers, the traditions uphold locality and activities in
the communities.
Participants are aware of their roles and perceive values to traditional
identities through learning and research processes.
Creation of performance costumes, these gains ideas by analyzing
components of traditions and interpreting meanings of the plays leading to have of
a performance namely “Pra Uppakut dancing sacrifice.”
