ABSTRACT
This qualitative research, entitied “ Likay : Conservation and Development by
Cultural Dimension, Wisdom and Sufficiency Economy.” The purpose of this research
were to study the developing of wisdom and culture in the Likay performance, to
proposed the guidelines for conservation and development of Likay performance by
cultural dimension, wisdom and sufficiency economy. The research methods used the
qualitative analysis method. The results of the study were then presented by means of
descriptive analysis.
The results of this study revealed the following. The wisdom in Likay
performance such as language, dance, song and music, costumes, stage, setting, light
and sound. These wisdom initiated by studying, training, collecting knowledge and
transferring while protected old wisdom that well, correct and suitable. As it will change
and develop according to age for made interesting and admiration of audiences to
promote likay performance so on.
The culture in Likay performance composed of tradition, values and beliefs, the
Thai way of life, language used, literature, dance, music, painting and moral. These
culture were transferred from the past down to the present by do not change because it
was the identity of Likay have to maintianed, but some culture was improved or
invented in the modernization.
The models of conservation and dissemination Likay performance in the present
such as hired Likay, theatre Likay, radio Likay, television Likay, print media Likay, internet
Likay, VCD Likay, school Likay, Likay contested and declaration honor esteem.
For applying sufficiency economy , the Likay artists could used conducted them
to be on adequacy , reason and suitable of self-safeguard and indicated that likay
artists could be live happily in the society the same as other career.
The guidelines for conservation and development of
Likay composed of
Likay’s
troupe, people and organization. The most of conservation and development was
Likay’s troupe
to maintain quality and improve oneself. The people could be back up
by hired and interested to see likay performance more. The organization could be
supporting budgets and promoted likay’s troupe to presented performance to the
people has plead widely. If the most cooperated rightly, Likay was been in Thai society
continuously.
